A native of Prairieville, Louisiana injury attorney J. Michael McDonald graduated from St. Amant High School and received his Bachelor’s in Political Science from the University of Louisiana-Monroe. During summer and winter breaks from college, Michael developed a strong work ethic while employed as a pipe-fitter and boilermaker by Turner Industries.
He attended Southern University Law Center where he was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, served on the Trial Advocacy Board, competed in mock trial competitions throughout the state and acquired applied experience through participation in the Workers Compensation Clinic. With two CALI Excellence Awards in his Admiralty Law and Offshore Personal Injury classes, Michael graduated cum laude in 2018 and was admitted to the Louisiana State Bar in October of the same year. Michael is also admitted to practice in all Louisiana Federal Courts as well as in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He joined Bateman Law Firm in December 2018 and is excited to be working as a Louisiana injury attorney with one of the region’s most respected and accomplished attorneys. Michael resides in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with his wife Brianna and enjoys playing golf in his spare time.
